Breaking news, the Chicago Bears will bench their starting quarterback Jay Cutler this Sunday. Jimmy Clausen will start in place of Cuter against the Detroit Lions. Clausen was a second round draft pick in 2010, and started 13 games for the Carolina Panthers before Cam Newton was named the starter. Cutler is the highest paid offensive player in the NFL, but is having a terrible season. He leads the NFL in interceptions with 18, and total turnovers with 24. The Bears head coach Mark Trestman commented that the whole offense, not just Cutler, is the pressing issue. Trestman think that the offense hasn’t been able to get what they need to get done, on a week to week basis. He also said that he hasn’t been able to get the best out of Cutler this season. If I had to guess, Jay Cutler won’t be the starting quarterback in Chicago next season.
